Kids On KidLit: Megan (age 11) Reviews MASTERPIECE #literacy #kidlit #k12 #parenting

Kids On KidLit: Megan (age 11) Reviews MASTERPIECE #literacy #kidlit #k12 #parenting

September 19, 2011 Kids On KidLit No Comments

This summer I read Masterpiece by Elise Broach.

My favorite character is Marvin. His family is scared that his best friend is James and he’s human!!!!  But, Marvin doesn’t care. He sticks to his promises to James. He helps James on painting the fake Durer pictures for him because James can’t draw and paint. James brings Marvin home to the cupboard, where Marvin lives. Marvin is a beetle!!!

My least favorite character is James’s mom. For James’s birthday she invited all of her bosses’ kids instead of James’s friends. All she cares about is her job and money. Marvin painted a present for James’s birthday. James’s mom thought James drew it and she still wants to sell it to one of her bosses to get money.

I really like the book Masterpiece and if you read it I hope you like it, too.
