Cowan Elementary School Visit

April 9, 2007 Uncategorized 1 Comment

Many thanks to all of my friends at Cowan Elementary in Sacramento. I
had the opportunity to speak to EVERY student in the school at the three
assemblies! As an extra treat, I also had the chance to work with a few of the
students in a smaller setting during our dialogue workshop.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with how an author visit comes about, it takes the dedication of at least one parent volunteer who works tirelessly to arrange school schedules, order lunch, mastermind book orders and the book signing, and find the necessary A-V equipment. Many thanks to Debbie Rice at Cowan, and all of the parents at schools I’ve visited in the past for making Author Day work for both your students AND me.

7-14-08 Hi Patti! Just received an email from you and noticed your website address below your name. I thought I’d look at your website to see what updates have been made and what you’ve been doing these days in your writing world.
The “blog” pages are a great addition to your website. I appreciate the kudos you gave to me regarding your author visit to our elementary school. It was a great day! I bought several extra books myself and have given them to friends as donations to their own elementary school libraries. Looking forward to seeing your new book!!
    You’re the best!
