Mrs. Brown was my third grade teacher. I remember her as a wiry lady with round glasses and short hair. She required oral book reports. As in standing up in front of the class to share your book. Turns out this was terrific training for a children’s author. When I visit schools, I’m giving Mrs. Brown’s oral book reports all over again!
